Employed Personnel - Count of Teachers by District, Subject Area, Gender and Ethnicity

Methodology:

This report shows counts of teachers employed in Texas public schools by subject area (e.g. Science, Social Studies, Mathematics) by gender and ethnicity for a Texas public school district. A person teaching multiple subject areas will be counted multiple times. For example, a person may teach a math class and a science class. This person would be counted once in each subject area. Data Elements:

Subject Area. The broad subject matter of a particular course/curriculum of study.

School District. Texas public school district where the person was employed for the reporting period.

Gender. Female, Male.

Ethnicity. There are five TEA reporting categories: African American, Asian, Hispanic, Native American, or White.

School Year. The reporting period consisting of the fall, spring, and summer semesters that begins generally in September and runs through the following August. Fall 2001, spring 2002 and summer 2002 comprise school year 2001-2002, also referred to as school year 2002.
